The statue of unity build at near sardar sarovar dam and it is situated in Gujarat. This is come under the kavadiya village locality. The valley near the sardar sarovar dam is very beautiful. The statue of unity build in downside of sardar sarovar dam. Purpose of building the statue of unity is for tourism and the name of person for whom the statue of unity is build for SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL. I was travel by hired car. The cars or taxies are better option for statue of unity visit, because these area is not well connected to highway and local conveyance are not easily available. You must choose hired car or personal vehicle with driver. The road which is goes to statue of unity is in horrible condition and very tough to drive.

When you reached at statue of unity, you will need visiting ticket and visiting tickets are available at ticket window at statue of unity and online also. But most important point, you should note down is that book online ticket as per your planning because may be some day tickets are not available so pre-plan your journey. Online ticket booking is good option because if you reached at statue of unity and asking for ticket at ticket window and you may not get the ticket because all the slot of visiting hour has been booked. Now a day's statue of unity become famous and tourist are more here. When you reaches at statue of unity you will find parking near the road. If you have booked ticket online than you can park your vehicle at these parking and go to unity visit. But if you are not booked ticket online you than you need to go ticket window, which is approx. 2-3 km far away from statue of unity. I really don't understand what is the purpose of making ticket window so far from the tourist place.  After taking ticket you can park the vehicle at ticket window parking also. There are two parking places available here, one is near ticket window and another is near the statue of unity. From ticket window you will get bus for statue of unity. These buses are frequently available and operated by statue of unity management and these facility is without charge only you need to show your ticket. After getting bus you reached at front area of statue of unity in few minute. Here you will find large area surrounded by boundary wall .

Many sitting chairs are available in these area and long pathway to reach at entrance gate. At the entrance gate your ticket will be check. If you are individual than it is OK. But if you are with your family, please keep altogether, because it is making ticket checking easy. The height of statue of unity is 183 meter and biggest in the world. After approx. 10 minute of walking, you will reach at bottom of statue of unity. The bridge is here between the entrance gate to statue. The bridge create very beautiful side view.

If you choose viewing gallery ticket, your first attempt should be go for viewing gallery visit, because it's operated in every two hour slot and know that what is your slot, because it is fixed during time of issuing ticket. After reaching in the lift you will be in chest of statue of unity within 36 second. At the chest local guides are available who are explaining about statue of unity. At these height, view is beautiful but not clear because of cross brazing. These make obstacles in view. I do the visit of view gallery just for curiosity but it is not satisfying me. Only height view is there and nothing more is there. You will come down within 30 minutes. Statue of unity is best place for vacation in gujarat.

After viewing gallery, you can see museum, where the captions are printed on wall and these are showing how our freedom fighters were contributed for freedom. After museum visit, you can go at foot of statue of unity, which is at 30 meter height and escalator is continuously running for visitors to reach at foot. You will feel here how statue is tall. It is really big and surprising.

Always choose morning slot for visiting of statue of unity. Because in these session atmosphere is pleasant and remaining half day can be invest in other activity or visiting other place which is nearby locality which I explain later. statue of unity is also best place to visit in gujarat for 1 day picnic.

During the visit of statue of unity, you should keep water bottle with you, because inside the statue boundaries there is no water cooler is available. Only statue of unity visit will take around 3 to 4 hour. So you should take proper breakfast for children otherwise you will suffer with appetite.

After visit of Statue of unity you will be out and outside of entrance gate you will find food court. Inside the food court really mess. These is most crowed place and sitting arrangement very un-proper and hap-hazard. You may get irritated, because queue is very long for whatever you want to eat and very expensive. For example: one PAV-BHAJI is cost of Rs 180 and it is six timed costly than food street. How can we afford that much of cost. These is very frustrating. You feel here, these people's destroying the actual purpose of tourist place. There are many setting chairs are available in large open area, but all are open to sky. You can't seat on these chair when day is hot and all chairs becomes heater. How they are not thinking about some shed so people can take shelter when weather is bad. Drinking water is not easily available at free of cost.

After all these nonsense, you will get bus for dam visit by facing long queue and within five minutes, you will reach at dam view point. Here you can't expend more than 20 minutes, because nothing is there for who can enjoy. It is just waste of time. After few minutes bus will take you at flower of valley. This is another shit because there is underdeveloped garden and this is poor garden you have ever seen, nothing is special. It is another waste of time. Statue of unity is also most famous place in gujarat.

Statue of unity build for making these area as a tourist place. But somehow it is lacking it's own purpose. Tourism means develop local peoples and resources. But here no development are seen. only road is good within a some range. In any tourist place local peoples are set-up small shops like fast food, toy shop for children and many others. These provides money to the local people's. But here at outside the visiting are no or nothing is available where the tourist can enjoy. This is the biggest drawback of area. You can't even find restaurant for lunch easily. Here for some reason you will not count in best visiting place in Gujarat.

I didn't find any hotel near the statue of unity, may be you will find good hotel at RAJPIPLIYA. The RAJPIPLIYA is a district near the statue of unity. As per my onion you should plan your visit in such a way that you can leave the statue of unity before 4.00 pm in the evening, because returning road is in horrible condition. It is also difficult to drive in night with bad condition road. So start with earlier will give you benefit. The statue of unity is remain closed on Monday. The crowds of visitors are more in weekends.

While returning from the statue of unity you can visit one beautiful temple of SHRI SWAMINARAYAN temple in POECHA temple. This temple is really good and amazing feeling comes. The most attracting thing about the temple is temple lighting. Lighting decorate on the temple in such a way that create beautiful view in the evening.
